What a night to remember! The inaugural Education Gala, held November 8 at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, was a sold-out celebration of community, commitment, and the power of public education. More than 225 guests gathered beneath the glowing tanks to honor those shaping the future of Carteret County through their leadership, generosity, and belief in our schools.

The evening featured the first-ever Education Impact Awards, recognizing individuals and partners whose work embodies the Foundation’s mission to innovate, intervene, and invest in education. Honorees included Brad Piner, Bucky and Wendi Oliver, Peggy Fambrough in honor of Rosalie Dowdy, and The Big Rock Foundation.

Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, dinner catered by Circa 81, live music, raffles, and a live student art auction — all supporting the Carteret Education Foundation’s programs that provide professional development grants, crisis assistance, and pathways for future teachers.

Thanks to our sponsors, partners, and every guest who attended, the event raised vital funds to continue supporting our students, empowering educators, and strengthening our public schools.

This was more than a gala — it was a reminder that when a community comes together for education, the impact ripples for generations.
